A small restaurant located along Hastings Street in North Burnaby, Osaka Sushi offers great food and an enjoyable experience.

What makes Osaka Sushi a popular place is their large selection of tasty specialty rolls. We ordered the White Dragon Roll (spicy tuna inside, raw tuna on top), the Osaka Roll (deep fried rolled with eel, red snapper, crab stick, and fish roe), and a Mango Roll which they had on their temporary specials menu. All of these rolls were exceptional, offering a great mix of flavours, rolls that were not too big, and reasonably priced for what you got.

Vegetarian rolls that we ordered included the Avocado Roll, the Asparagus Roll, and the Pumpkin Roll. The Asparagus Roll was particularly good and cooked just right as sometimes at other restaurants the asparagus can be under or over cooked. The Pumpkin Roll was a bit different as it was tempura, which was similar to a Yam Tempura Roll. It was very good and so too was the Avocado Roll.

One area they could improve is that none of their specialty rolls were vegetarian and offering at least an or two options would certainly satisfy the non-meat-eating patrons.

We were there on a holiday long weekend and the restaurant was packed, with many more people coming and coming with takeout orders. A sign of a busy restaurant often means there’s something good about the food. The service was great and although the food was a bit more expensive then popular nearby restaurants, like Sushi Town and Sushi Garden, we enjoyed it a lot more.

If you’re looking for some tasty sushi and are in the North Burnaby area, then Osaka Sushi is a wonderful option. If your preference is simply California Rolls, then best to find a cheaper sushi restaurant.

    These jack-asses serve shark fin.
    Need I say more?

Don’t let your site be associated with such an unsavoury practice.

Vancouver has higher standards than this.

dont hate on sharkfin. what if there was a ban on chicken and cows because u grow them just to eat them? Same thing. Its the food chain, just because you don’t eat it doesn’t mean it isin’t good.
try it before you knock it. food for thought

Uh, we will hate on sharkfin Alex. Cutting fins off of sharks and throwing them back in the water so that they can slowly die on the ocean floor is beyond cruel. It is one of the main reasons why shark species are severely endangered.

Educate yourself properly before running your mouth.

Even if it is “fake” then that would mean 1. They’re lying to their customer about what they’re eating and 2. Promoting the ingestion of shark fin.

Honestly, the shark fin is fake. If it was real, it would be way pricier than that on the menu.
