Sushi Q is located on the 2nd floor of Lougheed Town Centre next to the food court. The sushi is served in pre-packaged containers with a variety of different combinations, from rolls to nigiri. Sushi Q is a “grab and go” type sushi restaurant where you take it to go or can sit in the mall food court.
The “fancier” looking option that we ordered was the Dynamite Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll. The dynamite roll had deep fried prawn, avocado, cucumber, and sauce across the top. The spicy salmon roll was full of spicy salmon and had a spicy mayo type sauce drizzled across it. Both rolls were pretty good for “takeout” style. We suspected that both were recently made as the dynamite roll was still a bit warm.
The second combination we ordered was the Salmon Avocado Roll and Salmon Nigiri. The salmon avocado roll was pretty good and a decent size, but the nigiri did not have the freshest taste.
We ordered a “Smoked Salmon”, Cream Cheese, Avocado Roll as there were not too many other options. This was very disappointing and tasted terrible because the salmon was actually raw salmon and NOT smoked salmon. The combination of raw salmon and cream cheese should be avoided.
For a vegetarian option, they only had Avocado Rolls. These were pretty standard, nothing special but nothing to really complain about.
The ambience is not what you go to Sushi Q for…. it’s in a shopping mall food court. What you go for is to grab a quick bite of sushi as the sushi is already made and you just choose what you want and pay. The prices are ok and certainly cheaper than sitting in at a restaurant.
If you’re at the Lougheed Town Centre food court and craving sushi then Sushi Q has got you covered. But don’t make a trip to Lougheed Mall specially for this sushi place.
